Telehealth applications are used to monitor patients living far away from the hospital, to reduce home visits and hospitalizations that are planned for patient follow up, to ensure that patients are competent in their own health care and to provide low cost health services in a short period. Telehealth applications are used to ease the access to surgical services and to reduce gaps in treatment and care of especially surgical patients who need surgery. The nursing profession has also been affected by the developments in telehealth applications and in that way the concept of telenursing emerged. Telenursing is expressed as the realization of the nurse health professional, the nurse-nurse and the nurse-patient interaction by using telecommunication tools. In surgery, telenursing applications are followed by telephone monitoring and video conference monitoring after the patient is discharged. Since communication is provided by a tool, in remote surgical care; preventing the face-to-face communication of the patient and his/her relatives with the nurse and the lack of security and privacy of information can be considered as important disadvantages. In the literature although there are studies showing that there are positive results of telenursing applications, researches in our country on telenursing applications in the field of surgery has been found to be limited. In this study, it is meant to give some information about telenursing applications and how it is used in the field of surgery

Objective This study aims to examine nursing students perceptions of psychological violence in detail using the independent word association test and drawandwrite technique. Methods: In the study, the case study design, one of the qualitative research approaches, was used to deeply examine the students views on psychological violence.The study group consisted of 26 volunteer nursing senior students who agreed to participate in the study. The independent word association test and drawandwrite technique were used as the tools to collect detailed data regarding the cognitive structures of the participants about the concept of psychological violence. Drawings enable students to express their current knowledge and beliefs without words. The data were evaluated according to content analysis, and categories were obtained. Results: A total of six categories were created with the independent word association test and the draw-and-write technique related to the concepts in the minds of nursing students about psychological violence. These categories are the characteristics of psychological violence, the effects of psychological violence, the causes of psychological violence, types of psychological violence, and perpetrators of psychological violence. Conclusion: In our study, it was found that nursing students perceive psychological violence as the same concept as verbal violence, see anger as the first among the causes of psychological violence, and evaluate the effects of psychological violence as feeling worthless, decadent mood, and fear.

Being among the hematological malignancies, Multiple Myeloma is an important health problem that negatively affects survival, quality of life, physical, social and psychological status as a result of the treatments applied. Treatment options such as chemotherapy, immunomodulatory agents, and stem cell transplantation are available in combinations in the treatment of patients with Multiple Myeloma. It is recommended to use Lenalidomide as the first treatment option in patients who are eligible for stem cell transplantation, and an immunomodulatory agent and steroid therapy in patients who are not eligible. Hypercalcemia, renal failure, anemia, and bone lesions are among the most common symptoms in multiple myeloma. In the symptom management of the patient it is recommended that blood calcium level monitoring, hypercalcemia treatment, monitoring of renal functions, ensuring adequate hydration, administration of drugs according to the kidney dose, monitoring, and treatment of anemia, supporting nutrition, and avoiding physical activities that may cause trauma. It is very important for healthcare professionals to follow uptodate treatment recommendations based on disease and treatment-related evidence in Multiple Myeloma, to prevent symptoms, to increase treatment compliance, quality of life, and survival of patients. This review was conducted to evaluate current treatment recommendations, symptom management, and nursing interventions in patients with Multiple Myeloma.

Objective Knowing about intercultural sensitivity and xenophobia benefits nursing and midwifery students by helping them to provide high quality care. This study aims to examine the cultural sensitivity of nursing and midwifery students and its relationship with xenophobia. Method In this descriptive and cross-sectional study, 486 nursing and midwifery students completed the Intercultural Sensitivity Scale the Xenophobia Scale and the Xenophobia Scale-TR . In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, Mann-Whitney U, Kruskal-Wallis H and Spearmans correlation tests were used. Results: Students total ISS score average is 79.31 ± 7.20 the average XS score is 45.64 ± 11.18 and the total XS-TR score average is 48.98 ± 13.89. There was found a negative correlation between total ISS, Respect for Cultural Differences, interaction confidence and interaction enjoyment, and total XS-TR a positive correlation between all types of ISS scores and XS-TR humiliation. In addition, a negative correlation was found between the total ISS, Respect for Differences and Appreciation and XS-TR Hate. Additionally, a negative correlation between the Enjoyment of ISS and XS-TR Fear. Conclusion: Nursing and midwifery students have moderate cultural sensitivity and low level of xenophobia while providing health services. The students were cognitively aware of their cultural differences and those of others, but they did not internalize them effectively enough and tended to evaluate events and experiences in terms of their own culture.

The purpose of nursing care in major depression affecting the individual and family in all aspects to create a safe environment, to maintain the physiological and psychological integrity of the patient, to learn the ways of coping, to increase his/her awareness, to maintain his/her wellbeing by ensuring balance and harmony. In this direction, a nursing care that is personalized according to the patient and provides a holistic approach to the patient should be planned. The Neuman Systems Model is a model that enables nurses to collect detailed data about the patient, to look at the patient’s problems in a holistic manner and to make appropriate nursing diagnoses, and to be integrated into care. In this case, the nursing care of a patient who was followed up with a diagnosis of major depression was discussed within the framework of Neuman Systems Model. It has been observed that the applied nursing care contributes to the recovery of the patient. In this case, the nursing care of a patient who was followed up with a diagnosis of major depression was presented. It was observed that the care, which was planned and applied according to the Neuman Systems Model, was effective in meeting the needs of the patient and contributed to the recovery. As a result, it is thought that the Neuman Systems Model can be used the planning of nursing care in mental illnesses

Objective COVID-19 is a public health problem that has affected the whole world. The workforce of nurses is of great importance in the recovery and control of the epidemic. The aim of the study was to determine the perceived stress level of nurses working in the field during the pandemic period. Methods The descriptive crosssectional study was conducted on 240 nurses between 01 31 December 2020. The data collection form includes two forms Personal Information Form and Perceived Stress Scale. Study data entry and analysis was carried out in SPSS 23.0 program. In data analysis, categorical variables were defined by number and percentage, and evaluation was made using the chi-square test. The nonparametric Kruskal Wallis test was applied because numerical variables were not suitable for normal distribution. The mean score of the Perceived Stress Level Scale was 31.38±7.02. The stress level of nurses working in the COVID service was found to be higher than those working in other services According to age groups, those aged 29 years and younger those who have children those who work in the service , those who always define the unit they work as risky mixed day and night Perceived stress level was found to be higher in those who worked in the shift those who stated that working life always affected their social life and those who stated that no precautions were taken against contamination in the institution they worked during the pandemic process compared to other groups. Conclusion The stress level of nurses working in COVID-19 clinics was found to be higher during the pandemic process. In terms of employee health and safety, hospital nursing managements organization of interventions that will enable nurses working in these units to cope with stress will prevent long-term stress reactions and stressrelated mental and physical health problems

Objectives This study was performed to investigate the healthy life style behaviors and the professional quality of life of health care professionals. Methods This descriptive study was performed with 274 medical doctors and nurses. Professionals with an employment time of 6 months or more were included in the study. Data were collected through Self-description form age, gender, marital status, employment time, profession, educational status, properties of the institution, Healthy Lifestyle Behaviors Scale and Professional Quality of Life Scale ProQO. ANOVA test, Pearson correlation test and Tukey test were used for the analyses of the data. Findings In this study, exercise scores were higher in men than women, and health responsibility scores were significantly higher in nurses compared with the doctors. The health care professionals with an employment time of 6 months to 5 years had the lowest self-realization scores. The intensive care professionals had significantly lower exercise and stress management scores than those in internal and surgical branches, and less nutrition scores than internal branches. Satisfaction levels were the highest in health care professional with an employment time 5 years or less, and the lowest in those having less than 4 or less night shifts per month, and higher in nurses and males compared to the doctors and females. Compassion fatigue levels were the highest in health care professional with an employment time of 5 years or less, and the lowest in those having less than 4 or less night shifts per month. Burnout levels were found to be the highest in singles, in the group younger than 30 years old and in the group with an employment time of 6 months to 5 years, and the lowest in the group with 4 or less night shifts per month and in the group over 40 years old. Conclusion: As health responsibility, nutrition, physical activity and stress management levels of health workers increased, their compassion satisfaction levels increased; levels of burnout and compassion fatigue have decreased.It is recommended to encourage health workers to have a healthy diet and exercise, to provide necessary facilities within the institution, and to organize training programs for coping with stress

Management of a patient with Enteroatmospheric Fistula requires a multidisciplinary approach and a multifaceted treatment from a team of experienced surgeons and expert nurses. In this article, we aimed to present nursing bottle teat technique combined with vacuum-assisted closure through our own individualized modification method on a patient with a Grade 4 open abdomen.
